Courage is not just a personal quality. It is a choice to have faith and follow through, trusting that God is with you.
When You Simply Don't Know What to Do
While I was away, my brother Pastor McDuffie delivered a sermon titled “What to Do When You Don’t Know What to Do.”I found it incredibly inspiring and felt compelled to share my thoughts because, at some point in life, we will all face this very question.
- When we face uncertainty, the Bible encourages us to trust God, seek His guidance through prayer, and rely on His wisdom and promises. Our actions during these challenging times will reflect where we ultimately place our trust. Here are some steps we can take confidently to find peace and clarity as we await answers.
Trust in God’s Guidance
The Bible tells us to trust God rather than just our own understanding. Proverbs 3:5-6 says, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.” This means we should let God lead us, even when we are unsure.
Ask for Wisdom
When faced with uncertainty, God invites us to ask for wisdom. James 1:5 states, “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all freely.” Prayer helps us find clarity, and God promises to guide us.
Seek Direction Through Scripture
The Bible offers promises of guidance. Psalm 32:8 says, “I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go.” Isaiah 30:21 assures us, “Your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, ‘This is the way, walk in it.’” We should listen and be patient for God’s direction.
Find Peace in God’s Promises
When decisions feel heavy, God’s promises comfort us. Romans 8:28 reminds us that “all things work together for good to those who love God.” Philippians 4:6-7 encourages us to pray and promises peace. Hebrews 13:5 reassures us, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”
Cultivate Patience and Wait on God
The Bible teaches patience. Rushing decisions can lead to confusion. Waiting on God helps us hear His voice and strengthens our faith during uncertain times.
- Precious saints, we can trust in God's promises because He is faithful and will guide us. By following these biblical principles, we can face uncertainty with confidence. Know that God will give us the wisdom and peace we need to take our next steps.
