- July 4th is celebrated as Independence Day; we, as Christians, recognize that true freedom is available to us every day. Paul reminds us in 2 Corinthians 3:17, “Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.” When we trust in God, we are liberated from fear, anxiety, and limitations. This empowers us to believe in His plans and promises confidently.
- Trusting in God means letting go and allowing Him to guide us. While self-help books and inspiring materials can nourish our souls, true freedom comes from casting our burdens on the One who saves us. Jesus said, “Come to me, all you who are weary and carrying heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” (Matthew 11:28-30)
As Americans, we’re blessed to enjoy our freedom to work, worship, learn, and live as we choose. Let’s appreciate our spiritual independence and make the most of every moment to become who we’re meant to be!
